I am in a situation where I need to add a second instance of plugin in Navigator.

Seems I cannot add the same plugin twice.

Is there a way to overcome this limitation?

I had similar requirement. In my environment, in the same navigator instance we have multiple desktops. For each desktop we required EDS.
What I did was, in the same EDS code I have logic for each desktop. Problem solved.

May be you have different situation.

the problem is that we do not have the source code of the first EDS implementation, so we cannot built on it to implement the second requirement.

As there is no way to have a second EDS, we started a tedious process of de-compiling the first implementation to rebuild the source code and merge the second solution.
