Hi,
you should suppess the component finding. This will only suppess the finding within the specific folder/directory.
If you exclude the component finding the compenent will be supressed for the whole system/hostname.

Subject: How to exclude components that were found on temporarily mounts
Hi Christer,
Currently, You can exclude the product. Once, that software gets installed on the bigfix client later, it will get scanned by the software scan and will repopulate in the software classification.

Subject: How to exclude components that were found on temporarily mounts
Hi!
I have a situation where on one server the scanner found a lot of swidtags not seen before, and therefore these showed up in "Pending Confirmation". It turned out that these where found in a temporarily mounted directory, used for moving and migrating data between servers. So I excluded this directory from being scanned, but it still comes up to be confirmed or assigned, but with column Present set to No.
I know I can exclude the product for the computer, what happens later if this component actually gets installed on it later? The text says "Exclude Product", not component!
What is the correct procedure to handle this kind of situation?
