  • 1.  PPT extract doesn't appear to be working

    Posted Fri June 05, 2020 12:20 PM
I'm trying to extract a process into PowerPoint for sharing some details with non-BWL users. I can produce the extract, but when I open it, I receive an error message that says the file needs to be repaired. If I click the Repair button, I get another message that says the file cannot be opened. If I click further to see the details, there's a recommendation that states to turn off my virus software, but that is not an option. Working for a large company, especially in banking, I cannot just turn on/off my virus program.
I'd appreciate some assistance to get past this hurdle. Thanks!

    Hello Stacie,

Please open a support ticket so the support team can work with you to resolve the issue.

To open llog on to IBM Support Portal (https://www.ibm.com/support/home/) with your IBMiD to open or update a case and attach files at the same time. The benefit of using the IBM support portal is that you can track multiple tickets on one login, you can gather data for reporting services, you do not have to keep track of endless emails to learn how your issue is being handled by your support agent.

You can apply for an IBMid at https://www.ibm.com/account/reg/signup?formid=urx-19776

I recommend to export your process model as a PNG or another format and determine if the problem is the format file type, if you are able to export and open in another format then there is a problem with Powerpoint.

It's likely local to your device. Did you resolve it? Did it export to Word?
Frankly, we never use export to PPT, preferring Word and a plotter-based PDF as a more complete way to share details and especially comments.

Export your process model as a PNG or another format usually works.
