  • 1.  Connecting to an Existing Chrome Browser

    Posted Wed March 10, 2021 01:50 PM
    Hi there

I have a situation where the browser will already be launched and into a certain area is it possible to have a Robot that will Connect to that Browser and perform the many tasks that a user currently does today? If so how might someone get started with this.

    Thanks

    Hi Troy,

I think this should be possible, at least with IE.  See command below:

Yes this works you just have to make sure that you have everything accounted for when setting it all up.

Curious to know, did you get it to work with other browsers or is it just IE?

Hi Troy, It's been 364 days since you asked this to the community. Was there any final resolution to attaching to an existing Chrome webpage? Thanks.

    Hey Kyle,

Unfortunately, as of now this functionality does yet not exist.

https://dba.ideas.ibm.com/ideas/WDGRPA-I-44 was opened last year and has the following response.

Support to attach the bot to an opened browser for attended automation is planned.

We plan to support this feature for Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge and Firefox.
