I am happy to share that we announced Cloud Pak for Automation v19.0.2 on 8/13/19 and recently made it generally available on 9/27/19.

We have been busy last quarter building exciting new features and delivered the following in Cloud Pak for Automation 19.0.2 release:

  • Business Automation Studio: We introduced a low code development environment to quickly build automation applications, digital agents and services with Application Designer. Special Thank you to everyone who participated in early access program and helped us shape the experience of Application Designer.
    • Seeing is believing. Check out this video.
  • Business Automation Insights improvements: We improved security capabilities of Business Automation Insights by providing granular (dashboard) level access control. See below an example of assigning tenants to a role.

  • Application modernization/ Hybrid Cloud :We added more value to the Offering and provide more out of box capabilities to help you with your modernization journey:
    • Cloud Pak for Automation now includes Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform out of the box that you can use move your Automation workloads to Cloud Platform of your choice.
    • Cloud Pak for Automation now includes on-prem Automation capabilities (DataCap, Enterprise Records, Content Collector for Email/Files/Share Point) to provide flexibility to deploy Automation capabilities on-premise and/or evolve to cloud at your own pace. You no longer have to make an upfront choice on how workloads will be deployed (i,e on-prem or in Multicloud environments) at the purchase time.
  • Simplified deployment of Cloud Pak for Automation on Managed OpenShift on IBM Public Cloud:We made it easier to deploy from the catalog by providing defaults to many more configuration parameters. We plan to further simplify the deployment in the future.
