IBM and Automation Anywhere Inc. have combined forces to bring you IBM Robotic Process Automation with Automation Anywhere, who’s partnership was announced on 13 July 2017. IBM Robotic Process Automation with Automation Anywhere is the newest addition to the IBM Digital Process Automation portfolio and is now generally available, since 22 September 2017.

Robotic Process Automation (RPA) uses software robots to automate high frequency repetitive tasks that would usually be performed by your human workforce. Software robots mimic the actions of a person by interacting with systems using their graphical user interfaces rather than using traditional system APIs. This can help to improve time to value, lower costs, increase throughput and reduce human error. This is particularly useful for low skilled activities like data transfer between multiple systems, extracting data from emails and documents, and swivel chair activities where there is no integration between back-end systems.

This offering combines Automation Anywhere’s RPA capabilities and the IBM Business Process Manager (BPM) platform, so you can orchestrate your end-to-end business processes comprising activities completed by both software robots and your knowledge workers, giving you the best of both worlds. This allows you to maximize the automation opportunities within your business and enables your knowledge workers to focus on higher value activities.
