In 2022, our North American user groups requested a monthly series where an architect / project manager presents an Automation application deployed and in production and takes questions from the audience.  The BA Community has embraced it and we’re back with Automation Exposé in 2023 on February 16 at 11 AM ET with a recent story featuring on of the largest title insurance companies in Canada.  Click here and press the blue RSVP button to attend.

Geoffrey Hamm is a BPM Architect and Senior Account Executive for Salient Process, an IBM Business Partner that specializes in Business Automation.  In 2019, after years of technological investment and growth, the title insurance company was looking for a way to streamline many of the processes required to deliver a great customer experience. “Over the years, with many custom-built tech projects, their core business processes had become more and more complex,” attests Hamm.  “There were older legacy systems that needed replacing and there were more recent elements that perhaps weren’t integrating as well as they could be. They needed to do an enterprise-wide evaluation.”

Hamm met with the team in Canada and went through an analysis, using IBM Blueworks Live as a modeling tool to visualize the process and begin to rethink how it could be automated. The discovery process involved the key stakeholders and soon revealed lots of areas for improvement. Ultimately, they developed a plan to completely transform the organization’s process automation around all aspects of title insurance.

“It turned into a very large undertaking,” said Hamm. “People get scared when you're doing that kind of stuff. But the project evolved the more we talked about it, until the company said, ‘We're just going to rip all this stuff out and start from scratch. We’ll build something that, based on all of our experience and expertise, should work much better.”

Having a smooth and reliable title insurance process is essential to homeowners who don't want to wait to move into their new home.

Three years have passed, so it's a good time to ask, "Does it indeed work better?"

This is a great opportunity to see how a team worked together to model a new set of processes and then design and deploy Business Automation to execute the plan. Please join us for Automation Exposé on Thursday to see how the Canadian title company, working in tandem with Hamm and the Salient project team, transformed their complex processes with IBM Business Automation Workflow and IBM Operational Decision Manager to modernize, streamline and automate. As always, we will allow plenty of time for Geoff to take your questions.
