The first inaugural IBM Build-A-Bot Challenge has come to a close. The two winners of $10,000 each have been announced and the contest team is wrapping up the proceedings and reflecting on what we learned.
We learned a lot.
We learned that IBM Automation has an agile and enthusiastic Community that can rise to big challenges. We saw more than 200 individuals enter and download the IBM Robotic Processing Automation free trial (anyone can still download the free trial here). Within 30 days (from June 15-July 15), we received 15 creative, well-conceived, often innovative solutions to real problems – whether faced in the workplace or in society.
We learned that IBM Business Partners, including Salient Process, Prolifics, Cognizant, Cedrus Digital, CapGemini, Entelgy Consulting, Perficient, and SRM Innovators can quickly master a new tool (IBM RPA), collaborate as a team, and build a working solution that can make a difference in the world.
You can hear about all 15 submissions in the recording from the July 28 “Who Won the IBM Build-A-Bot Challenge” Webcast. Or you can view the slides here.
We extend our congratulations to the two winning solutions:
Best IBM RPA Solution to Improve My Workplace:
IBM RPA Bot to Automate Receipts Submission and Expense Reporting
Design Team: David Kaufman, Paul Hofle, Nathaniel Watkins, Maksim Chepel, Justin Irazabal, Cedrus Digital
Best IBM RPA Solution To Address A Social Challenge:
IBM RPA Bot for Virtual Food Bank Program
Designer: Wei Lai, Perficient
We have invited both Winners to join us on August 25 for a special Winners’ Webcast, where we will interview them on their experience. We’ll have a conversation about learning IBM RPA, how they picked the problem to address, how they developed and tested their solution, and how they developed the storyline and demo.
If you’re learning about Robotic Process Automation, looking for ways to bring RPA to your organization, or just curious about this hot new technology, I hope you’ll be there.
