By DAVID Jenness posted Tue July 20, 2021 11:25 AM

The very first IBM Build-A-Bot Challenge is closed for submissions and the judges are reviewing each RPA Solution and making their selections. At stake are two $10,000 prizes, one for Best IBM RPA Solution to Improve My Workplace and one for Best IBM RPA Solution to Address a Social Challenge. The two Winners will be announced on July 28 at 1 PM ET and you can join us by registering here:

There are some fascinating solutions submitted in each category. The teams were very creative and have pushed RPA into some new and interesting areas.  The webcast will feature all 15 solutions submitted and I’ve invited two special guests to join me to provide some perspective on the results of the contest.

First, we’ll visit with Robson Felix, the founder of today’s IBM Robotic Process Automation. When it was acquired by IBM in 2020, WDG Automation was the leading provider of DigitalOps (RPA / RDA / IVA / AI) solutions in Brazil with a platform capable of automating any type of application and/or process in any industry. Robson will share some history and comments on what the Contestants have created with his software.

After we review at the submissions and teams behind them, we’ll ask Petra Beck, an analyst with Infosource who covers the RPA industry, for her thoughts on the use cases and potential for the submissions.  Petra has over 25 years of experience in the Information Management market. Prior to joining Infosource, Mrs. Beck held various international positions with Kodak Alaris leading business research, divisional and corporate strategic planning as well as thought leadership functions.

We will close with the Big Announcement: The two winners and the teams or individuals who will receive the two $10,000 prizes.  Whether you’re a contestant or someone who is evaluating the potential for Robotic Process Automation at your organization, you will find much to be excited about. I hope to see you there!
