New Quickstart Template for Deploying Cloud Pak for Automation

Cloud Computerization has long promised improvements for deploying enterprise software and the benefits are finally emerging. It wasn’t that long ago that Automation customers would joke about the tractor trailer full of CDs backing up to the door just to get started on the installation. Now, with containerization, the process is much more streamlined.

However, that’s not to say that installing IBM Cloud Pak for Automation is as simple as downloading an app on your phone.  There are many integration points and connections that must be made, to object stores, networks, infrastructure elements, and other business systems.

Recently, the Digital Business Automation team released a “Quickstart template” process for deploying Cloud Pak for Automation that guides both Cluster Administrators and Cloud Pak Administrators through the set-up process, from planning to preparation to installation.

In an Art of Automation video, Senior Offering Manager, Shekar Madishetty, explained how the team approached the challenge and then demonstrates by setting up Cloud Pak for Automation in a matter of minutes. The team identified deployment patterns and built role-based scripts to guide system administrators through a successful installation.

Customers have been asking for a more intuitive approach to deployment and Madishetty and the team have listened and responded with a much-improved approach that encompasses the different roles required to launch and run Cloud Pak for Automation across an enterprise.

By the way, that sound you hear is the sound of IBM Automation clients all over the world applauding this new simplified approach.
