  • 1.  Maximo Licenses for Mobile Apps

    Hello

We have an AI driven no-code mobile app development platform that we have integrated into Maximo that creates fully native (iOS/Android) app solutions rapidly. Our solutions compliment and extend the capabilities of Maximo Mobile and our platform is able to quickly connect to any back end (clioud or on-premise) with any API. We use Maximo REST API interface to integrate at the back end and we had a quesion about Licenses which we are unsure of. We would be grateful if someone could provide some guidance around how the license is structured when an external mobile app is created on Maximo. Is there an additional licesnse component and if so how is this driven for example is it based on API calls or number of end users (iOS and Android). I presume there is also a difference in using 7.6 or MAS (oir solutions work across both platforms). Thanks in advance for your assistance.

For Maximo Application Suite as long as the user has a Maximo license e.g App Points for a Limited user or above then that would be sufficient..for Maximo 7.6 the user license would need to be an Express if they were only using the mobile app to interact with Maximo or a limited license if they needed core Maximo desktop access as well..these would be the minimum based on what other access the user needed but typical for engineers/technicians. With MAS the next challenge is how they log in and how the App Points are consumed, if they are not checking app points out of the pool then they would need to be authorised users that then reserve the App points even if they are not logged in so concurrent users would not be an option.

    Hi Steve

Thank you very much for your response it was helpful. For clarification, it would be helpful to use an example. If we build a mobile app against a clients Maximo instance and say the app is distributed to 100 end users (each user needing to log into to that Maximo instance as aprt of the app functionality) what does that correlate to in temrs of the quantity consumed of MAS App points and additionally on 7.6 would that require them to purchase additional Express licenses. What I am trying to establish is that if we build mobile app solutions against Maximo what are the commercial impacts (if any) to the clients of having those apps in the field for use by their users?. Thank you again in advance.
