    Alvonda,

    We at Thermo Fisher Scientific looked into this several years back.  The issue that we faced was that the regulatory requirements had the standard deviation going out to 10 decimals and the Maximo system only had it out to 7 and they rounded which the regulatrory agency would not accept,  so we did not pursue any further.

    Hi Michelle,

    We have used the repeatable test points functionality of data sheets on work orders. It represents a very small percentage of our calibration work orders.  Specifically for balances normally we utilize a spreadsheet which we attach to the work order.  Some data from that spreadsheet (example calculated standard deviation) are entered into Maximo and verified are against limits set up for non-repeatable calibration points.  A couple key points to remember when using repeatable points;

    1.  Calculations for tolerances and error are not calculated for individual repetitions of the calibration point only the average of all points is evaluated against tolerance limits.
    2.  Standard deviation is calculated, but no tolerance limits can be defined.

    Hi Michelle,

    We have set up data sheet templates and use repeatable test points on work orders.  It is a very small percentage of our overall data sheet population.  A couple of things regarding repeatable test points that everyone should recognize/remember.

    1. Tolerance and error calculations against tolerance limits for individual repeated calibration readings are not performed.  These calculations are only performed against the average readings of the repetitions.
    2. You cannot define tolerance limits for standard deviation, although the value will be calculated by Maximo on the work order.

    Specifically for balance calibrations, we normally perform a number of calculations external to Maximo in a spreadsheet.  This spreadsheet is then attached to the work order.  Some values (e.g. standard deviation) from the spreadsheet are transcribed into a data sheet, with defined cal points and tolerance limits, on the work order.

    Regards,

    Ken
