I would be interetsed in hearing others experience in using Tririga for Document Management, specifically in relation to managing files assocaited with active assets e.g. as-built files from construction handover, lease contracts assoicated with properties, equipment manuals amongst others.

If you are using it to manage large volumes of documents how does it compare to other systems, or have you integrated with an ECM solution?

If so which solution have you integrated with?

Is there a limitation on volume of data that can be managed or is it limitless, and/or does it affect performance in any way?

With a portfolio of 4,000+ buildings, it is a significant volume of information and would be keen to learn from others experience in this area.

    Anna,

We have also been looking at alternatives to using the built in doc manager, our chief concern with using it being that it is generally in-advisable to store large (over 400 MB) documents in a data base due to forecasted performance issues. We haven't run into this yet but would like to avoid the possibility down the road. To that end we started looking at the option of integrating an external ECM and have anecdotal stories of it working for other agencies.

One of the groups doing this is the Air Force's Next Gen team, but as of yet we haven't been able to sit down and look at the integration and what it ended up looking like. I will gather the data we have so far and reply again, but I would also be very interested to here from anyone else in this group as to their take on this subject.

For the moderators here, in talking with other groups I have gleaned that the 2 of us are not the only ones currently having this struggle. This might be a REALLY good topic / show and tell for one of our upcoming meetings. Maybe we could have an agency or a contractor that has done one of these integrations give a little briefing on and answer some questions?

    Anna and Ashley,

OUTFRONT Media uses Tririga for lease administration (over 25,000 leases). We maintain the related documentation in an external system (Carta) and we integrated it with Tririga so we can view the documentation in Tririga (although it resides in Carta).

We are considering Tririga for document management also. We brought this up at the last Tririga Accounting User Group call and a subgroup of companies is meeting on Monday at 2pm ET to discuss this further. If interested, please email at liliana.peron@outfront.com and I can include you in the discussion.

    Regards

Some clients have integrated TRIRIGA with IBM FileNET as their document repository and ECM, and I've heard some TRIRIGA business partners have integrated TRIRIGA with MSFT SharePoint as the ECM repository.

IBM TRIRIGA Application Platform includes the Document Manager, which enables applications to access documents and data files that are stored on the server. The Document Manager organizes documents and data files in a way that is similar to the file system on a personal computer.

Tjene has enhanced managing documents within IBM TRIRIGA by enabling search, drag and drop, and multiple file upload.  We have implemented this for multiple clients who have over 1.3TB of documents.

Below is a link with a video demonstrating the IBM TRIRIGA document management enhancement.
