Hello fellow Maximo Enthusiasts,
We have some exciting news to share that will undoubtedly elevate our Maximo user community to new heights. After careful consideration and collaboration, we are thrilled to announce the merger of the New South Wales/Australian Capital Territory (NSW/ACT), Victoria/Tasmania (VIC/TAS), Queensland (QLD), South Australia (SA), and Western Australia (WA) Maximo User Groups into a single, powerful entity: the Australian Maximo User Group (AMUG).
Why Merge?
First and foremost, let's address the burning question: Why merge these regional groups into one unified Australian MUG? There are several compelling reasons:
1. Strength in Numbers
By bringing together the diverse Maximo communities from across Australia, we instantly amplify our collective knowledge, experience, and expertise. This synergy will be invaluable in tackling complex challenges and discovering innovative solutions.
2. Broader Perspectives
Merging allows us to tap into the unique insights and perspectives of Maximo users from different regions. This cross-pollination of ideas will fuel creativity and expand our horizons.
3. Streamlined Communication
With a single, unified group, we can streamline our communication channels, making it easier for members to connect, share information, and stay updated on the latest Maximo developments.
4. Increased Networking Opportunities
Imagine the potential for networking when we bring together professionals from all corners of Australia. The merger will facilitate meaningful connections and collaborations, helping members grow their professional networks.
5. Enhanced Learning Resources
A consolidated MUG will enable us to pool our resources and provide even more valuable learning opportunities, such as guest speakers from across Australia.
What to Expect
With this merger, you can expect a few changes in how we operate:
1. Meetings and Events
We will continue to run our state-based meetings and events but you’ll now have the ability to join meetings in other states as well. This will benefit members with offices in multiple states.
2. Communication
We'll be consolidating our communication channels, so keep an eye on updates from the Australian MUG website and mailing lists.
3. Membership
We are also taking this opportunity to do some housekeeping of members across all groups. Further information will be coming soon on how we will be moving/migrating members to the new group.
4. Existing content
The existing content from each of the MUGs will be migrated to the new site so we don’t lose any of the great content collected over the years.
5. Leadership
The structure of the AMUG committee will include representatives across the Maximo community. Details of this will be shared once finalised. By having a wider group of committee members, the responsibility and time required can now be shared.
Get Involved
This merger is an exciting step forward for the Maximo community in Australia, but its success depends on your active involvement. We encourage you to:
– Share your ideas and suggestions for the Australian MUG.
– Attend our upcoming meetings and events to meet fellow Maximo enthusiasts.
– Volunteer your expertise and experience to help us shape the future of the Australian Maximo User Group.
Together, we will create a vibrant and dynamic community that supports and empowers Maximo users across Australia.
In closing, we want to express our gratitude for your continued support and enthusiasm for Maximo. We are confident that this merger will bring about positive changes that benefit us all. If you have any questions or comments, please feel free to reach out.
Stay tuned for more updates, and let's embark on this exciting journey together!
