Hi @Ed Hayman,

In the Business Services list, is all services for the healthcare vertical under where the Service Category is Health, Safety, Security, & Environmental Services?

Is the same as the healthcare provider services extension?

Thanks Ed!  It's been awhile since I posted the original question - we don't do charge backs, but it's good to understand the purpose behind this cost pool.  Thx much!  Appreciate the clear explanation!

@Richard Lewis  EBM Taxonomy is a broad term.  With the TBM Taxonomy v3.0, we split the business facing services into 2 categories:

  • Shared Services
  • Business Services

Shared Services defines a standard set of Service Categories and Service Names for Finance, HR, Legal, etc. which are common to most organizations public, private or non-profit.

Business Services is a separate break out to support industry vertical extensions.  TBM Taxonomy v3.0 has a generic set of services.  With the 3.0 release, a vertical for Healthcare Provider business services was released.  During 2019, the Standard Committee has been coordinating with several vertical workgroups which will publish their business services later this year.  The verticals include:

  • Public Sector
  • Healthcare Insurers
  • Insurance
  • Banking
  • Manufacturing

We plan to sponsor other vertical workgroups in 2020.

Does this address your question?  Is there anything specific you are looking for?

@Carol St. Claire  "Internal Services" was a new cost pool introduced to handle internal cross charges from other departments within your company.  As an example, if Finance or HR charges IT for services rendered, you would classify those costs as "Internal Services".

We are behind the times  and are still on ATUM 1.0.  As part of our migration to R12, we will be moving to 3.0.  So the "Internal Services" cost pool is a new one to me.  Any insight as to what type of data maps to this?  Thx for any insight!
