@Randal Massy-Greene  The complete url with context is only available via the send email option.  The browser url is not modified as you make interactive selections.   Thus, if you want to save a specific view as a bookmark, you would need to configure the desired options in a report then send yourself an email to get the detailed link.

Thanks @Ed Hayman - CBA is definitely looking forward to the "URL with report context".

On this, could you please advise if the URL is only produced by using the functionality in Apptio to send it via email? Or does the URL showing in the browser get updated as you make the changes to the relevant report?

The reason I'm asking is if I wanted to create a context specific report for my own use, could I just bookmark it after making the changes - or would I need to email myself first (from Apptio) to get the URL, which I could then bookmark?
