We've launched a number of important updates to Cloudability's Commitment features. This includes consolidation of pages, more intuitive navigation and more granular insights.
Commitment Portfolio - The "Reservation Portfolio" has been renamed to the "Commitment Portfolio", better reflecting the fact that these instruments span Reserved Instances, Savings Plans and Committed Use Discounts. The "Savings Plans" feature, a separate portfolio feature that was in the left-hand nav, has be removed as the information there now rolls under the Commitment Portfolio. Finally, please note that the Portfolio functionality has been moved from the "Insights" left-hand nav category to "Optimize". We expect this feature consolidation and navigational change will help users more intuitively manage their commitment portfolio.
Commitment Recommendations - The "Reserved Instance Planner" has been renamed to "Commitment Recommendations", better reflecting the fact that these instruments span Reserved Instances, Savings Plans and Committed Use Discounts.
Additional Commitment Enhancements
AWS & Azure Savings Plans Portfolios: These have been enhanced to include detailed historical information such as utilization and savings data, both at the individual commitment and aggregate level. This is consistent with functionality previously available for Reserved Instances.
GCP Portfolio: “All Commitments” and “All Compute” pages are now added to convey performance at an aggregate level. Updated KPIs on the resource-based Compute CUDs portfolio page now match GCP Compute Flex CUDs. Finally, grouped and ungrouped tables convey ownership and how sharing impacts performance.
We have a number of further exciting updates coming for our commitment features in the coming weeks. Please stay tuned for more details and reply to this article if you have feedback or questions.
