 unfinished action items move with team iteration.

we use the action item entity in our team iterations.

now when you close a team iteration all action items stay in that closed sprint

I'd like for the open / in progress items to move to the next sprint just like userstories do?

is it possible to make an automation rule for that or something? if so how would that look like?

Your use case may be similar to one of the examples there and the examples may help you get started.
