Time Filter (Months Year To Date) for Report not showing in chronological order

Hi all,

I created a report for my team a few month back that shows our ending excessive fund balance by month for our specific Internal Orders. I used the Months Year to Date Time filter to filter the columns on. We go off Fiscal Year so our year starts in July and that should be the first column with data in it with the correct months in columns after that. Every month it has worked just fine until we did Cost Model for December and now I cannot get December to move to the end and it is now the first column. Please see the attached screenshot.

Is there anything special I can do? I can manually add the months individually but I don't want to have to manually do that each month when the Months Year to Date filter should pull the correct data in the correct order based off the Date Range drop down selected.

Thanks,
Matthew Sparks

HI @Matthew Sparks,
Ok I tracked it down. According to our support team,  @Jenny Franklin was correct, it was fixed in 12.9.11 however, you need to be at least on Client 1.7 as well as 12.9.11.   If you need help upgrading the client version please contact Support or your CSM.

Kind regards,
Debbie Hagen

Hi Matthew,

Happy to try and help. Did you try removing everything completely from time settings and then putting in the "Months (Yr)"? Let me know if that works, thank you!

@Jessica Spencer, I removed the time setting completely for the report and tried to add it back, I can also add each individual month which is what I think you are suggesting with the "Months (Yr)". I don't want to have to add the new month every month manually after building the cost model. The CFO and others would like the Month YTD to pop up based off what we choose for the Date Range  in the order of the month. The Months Year To Date setting was working perfectly fine but now it is just showing December first and I cannot drag and drop the months. Hopefully I described this well along with the screen shot from the original post.

Hi Matthew,

Thanks for letting me know. You may want to look into the date partition configuration.  I also just want to confirm when you navigate to a different month, it still shows December as the first column. To protect your corporate data, I'm unable to really dig in and look into your environment. I would suggest submitting a support ticket or reaching out to your Customer Success Manager as next steps.

Thank you and best of luck,

Jessica

@Jessica Spencer, if I change to any month later than November FY22, the order just appears to start doing random orders. See the screenshot for example. I don't know what changed and why all of the sudden it started doing this and can't be fixed?

@Matthew Sparks, re the random column order on the report, I think that issue is fixed with a later release - what release are you on?

@Matthew Sparks, hmm, I would think you would be okay with 12.9.11.  I remember seeing that issue in 12.9.7, but maybe it's still on the 'to be fixed' list. ? 🤷‍♀️

@Matthew Sparks, found an old case we had submitted re columns changing in reports after it was saved.  They noted that "Engineering indicates that this issue will be resolved in version r12.9.11. The release date is still tentative, but will probably be some time in September."  Guessing it was pushed out to a later date/release?  Unsure if someone could confirm - will tag @Lauren Pagan to see if she has some inside knowledge 😁

@Jenny Franklin thank you for the tag!  I do not have much insight into product related items.  I work more on the admin side of Community and Apptio University.  @Debbie Hagen might be our best to help with this.  Deb are you able to help answer this "found an old case we had submitted re columns changing in reports after it was saved.  They noted that "Engineering indicates that this issue will be resolved in version r12.9.11. Thanks @Lauren Pagan and @Jenny Franklin,
Let me see if I can track down whether that has been fixed and if so in which release.

@Matthew Sparks - are you on 12.9.11?

Thanks,
Deb

@Jenny Franklin @Debbie Hagen @Lauren Pagan, sorry I was responding to you all through my inbox. Debbie pointed out the issue to me. We are on the Server Version 12.9.11 but not the correct Client Version for this fix to have taken place. I will coordinate with our CSM to get us upgraded. Thank you all so much for the help!

@Jenny Franklin @Debbie Hagen @Lauren Pagan Hi all, I have some bad news. We had our update friday night that was suppose to fix this issue and it did not. See below:

Is there any other recommendations?

Oh no!  Wondering if you have to be on a certain Components version for that to work after the upgrade maybe?  @Debbie Hagen, @Jenny Goodwin, @Lauren Pagan

I recommend contacting support.  They can help troubleshoot the issue and determine why the upgrade didn’t resolve it.
