I'm glad to be back with our latest episode of Product Potpourri! I hope these questions are helpful to everyone.
- In Cloudability why are containers in their own menu for optimization? Containers are cloud-agnostic, you can have AKS or EKS (Azure and Amazon's Kubernetes services) for instance, so Cloudability separates containers into their own header.
- What does the "Add Heading" checkbox on the report creation popup do? When you create a report use the checkbox for "Add Heading" to include a header. The header that you create will be the name of the report itself in grey bolded text. This can be an easy addition to bring a bit of style to your reports and is definitely worth using as needed.
- What does "Show Context Menu" from the report component Properties menu do? If you choose to update a component's Properties there is a selection named "Show Context Menu". If this is selected a dropdown arrow will appear to the left of your component's header. You can now click on this arrow to quickly reference the same popup menu that you would normally see by right-clicking.
- If I create a report using the "Only Me" permission can other Admins see it, and can I change those permissions? If you create a report as "Only Me" you will be the only person who can see this report, even other Admins can't see it. The only way to share this report would be to send the direct URL from the address bar to another Admin, only Admins will be able to use the link. You can change this permission whenever you'd like. Go to the Report tab, then scroll to the Permissions button. Clicking on Permissions will provide you a pop-up with the "Only Me", "Everyone" or "Selected Roles" so you can change these after you've created the report.
It's great to be back hosting the Product Potpourri series and I'll be looking forward to seeing all the fantastic questions that come up in our new classes. Hope to see you there!
