Apptio BI 'Rolling' Dates that Align to Cloudability Functionality

  • 1.  Apptio BI 'Rolling' Dates that Align to Cloudability Functionality

We are currently Cloudability users and looking to incorporate Apptio BI into our executive reporting. One feature that works well for us in Cloudability is the ability to set a 'Custom Start Date to Date', where the Start Date is fixed & the End Date rolls to be the current day. This allows us to set a start date that aligns to our Fiscal calendar (Jan 31 for this fiscal year) while being able to automatically see the most recent cost data.

In Apptio BI, I last Friday tried to set a 'Custom Start Date to Date' for Jan 31 - Aug 11 with the rolling checkbox selected. While this setting in Cloudability means I today see Jan 31 - Aug 15, in Apptio BI I am seeing a date range of Feb 4 - Aug 15, which means both the start & end date roll.

Is there a way to replicate the date functionality in Apptio as we have in Cloudability? This is a pretty important date range to be able to see, and we are not going to have the capacity for someone to manually update date ranges on the dozens of graphs we need to build every day/week.

    Hi Michael,

the functionality as you describe is the intend behavior of customer start date to date, but it appears that we have an issue where both the start and end date roll forward (effectively acting like a custom date range that rolls, instead of a fixed start date and a rolling end date). I've filed a ticket for this, and the team will investigate as soon as possible.

When we have a timeline on the expect resolution, I'll post that here as well so you have visibility into an expected fix. Thanks for flagging this, hope to have it resolved quickly!
