Thanks for the additional information. I don't have this setting on my end, so I inquired with our TAM.

The settings to adjust the polling frequency or data resolution are typically found within the Cloudability platform's integration settings for AWS or in the CloudWatch console's metrics configuration. Here's where to look:
Cloudability Integration Settings:
Log into Cloudability, navigate to the Integrations or Cloud Accounts section, select the connected AWS account, and look for options related to data polling frequency or metrics granularity.
CloudWatch Console:
If you need to adjust metrics directly, open the Amazon CloudWatch Console, go to Metrics, and configure the granularity for specific metrics or dashboards. Alternatively, check your alarms under the Alarms section and modify their evaluation intervals.

To reduce CloudWatch API calls and costs while retaining functionality, you can adjust the polling frequency in Cloudability's settings, increasing the interval between metric updates (e.g., from 1-minute to 5 or 10 minutes). You can also configure CloudWatch metrics to use a lower data resolution (e.g., 5-minute or 15-minute granularity) to reduce calls. Additionally, if using CloudWatch alarms, set less frequent evaluation intervals. These changes allow you to maintain necessary features while minimizing API usage and associated costs.

Hi,
We've granted Cloudability access to monitor our AWS CloudWatch metrics for CPU, RAM, and other usage.
According to AWS, Cloudability is our largest user of the CloudWatch "GetMetricStatistics" operation by far.
Since we've had other providers handle this in the past, we're wondering if it's possible to allow customers to request less frequent updates of our CloudWatch metrics. This could help reduce the number of calls and the costs associated with this operation.
While we don't want to remove the IAM permissions and lose all related features, we believe we could still function with data that is updated less frequently.
Thank you.
