If you're using URLFWD DNS records, immediate action is required to migrate those records into the URL Redirects feature. URLFWDs will be deprecated from the NS1 Connect platform on Sept 30th, 2024.
You can find our product announcement for the new Redirect feature here: https://www.ibm.com/blog/announcement/making-https-redirects-easy-with-ibm-ns1-connect/
And our product documentation here: https://www.ibm.com/docs/en/ns1-connect?topic=url-redirects
Migration of a URLFWD to a Redirect can be done by following these simple steps:
Create the corresponding Redirect for the record to be migrated. Note: DNS responses from NS1 nameservers will still follow the existing URLFWD while both exist.
Verify all settings are correct on the new Redirect record.
Delete the URLFWD record. Note: DNS responses will cutover to the new Redirect after the TTL on the URLFWD expires.
Repeat for all URLFWDs.
The NS1 Connect support team is here to help with this process as well. Our support team can access a list of all URLFWDs in your account (if you need help finding them). They also have a migration script that has been developed and tested by our engineering team to perform Step 1 of the above process for ALL URLFWDs in your account. If you would like the support team to run this script on your account, please open a support case. If we do not hear from you before September 30, 2024, NS1 Engineers will perform the migration of URLFWDs to URL Redirects in your account on your behalf.
