Safura Suleymanova is a Data Scientist at the IBM Machine Learning Hub and develops Machine Learning powered solutions for customers across various industries, including finance, telecom, supply chain, among others. She feels passionate about how data can be used to streamline more routine processes ultimately improve business decisions. To improve existing operational processes at her previous workplaces she started leveraging the data, which led her to the field of Data Science. Safura has a bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, with a specialization in Risk Management and Statistics from University of Waterloo.

Throughout his career with IBM, Vincenzo has held a variety of engineering roles including developer, quality assurance, support, release manager, and chief of staff, as well as various management positions for multi-disciplined global teams across 8 countries. He began his career at IBM after an internship through University of Toronto and has led teams across various IBM businesses including: DB2, Tivoli, WebSphere, Power Systems, Storage, and Cognitive. He has been able to leverage his diverse IBM background to help usher in 2 local IBM acquisitions: Think Dynamics and Platform Computing, spending several years integrating the team and their technology into the IBM ecosystem, while learning and adapting his own leadership philosophies using techniques he learned from these successful start-ups. Vince’s most recent accomplishment was launching several new offerings in the newly formed Cognitive Systems portfolio, including: Spectrum Conductor, Spectrum Conductor with Spark, Spectrum Deep Learning Impact, and PowerAI Enterprise, all of which are now integral parts of IBM’s new OneAI stack.

In his current role, Vincenzo recently launched the IBM Canada Lab Area631, an incubation space operating as a startup inside of IBM.Vince also manages the Machine Learning Hub, where potential clients come to be introduced to our ML technology and begin their journey to infusing AI into their businesses. On top of these roles, Vince is leading several transformational initiatives that look to infuse AI into existing IBM offerings and leverage AI in how we build, manage, and deliver our technology.
