I am working on a homework that requires me to do select case on SPSS statistics, i have the 27 version. But once i do select case, it made all my data into question mark. Does someone why and how can i fix this? I can't find any related questions. Thanks in advance.

There is alot that could be going on here. Could you give us a detailed description of what it is you are trying to do and how you go about doing it? Any errors or warnings you encounter along the way. Do you only have problems with this data set when doing a Select? when you try and do the same thing using one of the Sample datasets, do you see the same problem? Do other actions similarly cause the Data Editor window to become 'all question marks'? It would also be good to know the version of SPSS Statistics and the platform (Windows, macOS, Linux).

Hello David! So I have my data, and i went the select case to filter out the ones that i need. Then it made my whole data sheet into question mark, i wish i can insert the screenshot here but i don't know how. I have the MacOS and its SPSS27. It only happen when i try to do select case, and everything else work just fine. When I use different data, it happens the same too. It never happened before, only when i try to do select case. Thank you!

Your further explanation sounds to me like you have encountered a defect, for which there exists an Interim Fix. There are two fixes: One for IBM SPSS Statistics 27.0 (27.0-IM-S27STATC-MAC-IF006) and one for IBM SPSS Statistics Subscription (SUB-IM-STATC-MAC-1461-IF002). Please be sure to select the proper fix for your product.
