    • What intelligence is as a principle?
    • What is the difference in intelligence between us and our closest primate relatives.

    Hi Aziz,
Interesting questions. Right now, Artificial Intelligence is still in its infancy (or maybe a toddler stage), but things are always changing. So much of AI is currently based on machine learning, but it can be very powerful when applied properly. What is beyond current AI is anyone's guess, but I feel it will continue to develop with more advanced neural networks in addition to find ways to broaden the application of AI in new areas.
When it comes to defining intelligence, there are a lot of philosophical viewpoints, and none of them fit in a single post. Are you looking for something in particular?
As far as comparing intelligence across species, I will have to leave that to the biologists and zoologists.

Philosophically very interesting questions. I am going to take a stab at just defining intelligence in my own words without bringing in AI. I think its the ability to learn, reason using that knowledge, and solve complex problems. As for the difference between us and our closest primates, there are many biological factors that contribute, including things like brain size relative to the entire size of the creature. However, I feel we would not have made as many advances if it hadn't been our language. When I say language, I don't simply mean being able to verbalize or talk, but rather our ability to articulate very complex concepts/thoughts using words.
