  • 1.  Syntax for Defining Strata of Different Sizes

    I am using SPSS Statistics version 26 for statistical sampling. I would like to specify 30 observations for stratum 1, 25 for stratum 2 and 15 for stratum 3. What is the syntax I need for this sort of stratification?

    It is easiest to start with the Sampling Wizard (Complex Samples > Select a Sample).  You specify the strata variables on the second screen, and on screen four you can specify the size for each stratum.  You can paste the syntax at the end of the wizard or just run it.  The CS* command are fully described in the Command Syntax Reference if you want to go that way.
