  • 1.  Installation error - SPSS 28.0.1.1 on MacOS 12.5.1

    Hello, we are getting the attached error "The installation failed" when attempting to install SPSS 28 or SPSS 28.0.1.1 on a MacBook running MacOS 12.5.1

    The error does not give any info on what the issue might be. We tried downloading the software again and also installing the fix pack version. 

    Please can you help?

    The most likely  reason I can think of for the above error message is corrupted install media, or perhaps corrupted intallation temp files.

    How about this:

    - Use the following Technote to remove any and all instances of IBM SPSS Statistics from your macOS 12.5.1 macbook.

    - Download IBM SPSS Statistics 28.0.1.1 for macOS again from Fix Central:
    http://www.ibm.com/support/fixcentral/quickorder?product=ibm%2FInformation+Management%2FSPSS+Statistics&fixids=28.0-IM-S28STATC-Mac-MD001-FP001&source=SAR
    - When the media is completely downloaded, install the product per these instructions:

    Hi David, thank you for this. It did indeed turn out to be an issue with the install media. The user had not realised that the install package was not fully downloading using a particular web browser. They downloaded it again using a different web browser and it then installed successfully,
