How to show values as sum of dollar sales (numeric variable) and not frequencies?

Hi! Hoping someone can help me. I have a dataset with multiple variables and dollar sales. How can I view a standard string variable, but instead of the values being frequency counts change them to have the values be a second variable (that is dollar sales, a numeric variable)? I am also looking to view cross-tabs with two string variables in x and y axes, with the sum of the numeric variable (dollar sales) being the interior values of the table instead of the standard frequencies. Does anyone know how to do this? Thank you!

Sounds like you need to look into CTABLES (Analyze > Tables > Custom Tables
