I have been having a problem with being unable to cut and paste a cell entry from one variable to another, or manually enter it. This has been happening sporadically for about a month, roughly when a Google Drive update (where I store my work files) occurred. I am not certain that this is the source of the problem, but when IBM support had me work with the same or a new data file on my local drive instead, the problem seemed to disappear for the period I'd run these tests (as I've said, this is an intermittent problem in the last month or so, so I'm also not sure whether the test was applied for long enough, but I had to get work done too, not just test things ad infinitum). Recently I returned to the Google Drive version of the file, because the local drive version was corrupted, and as long as I was doing data transformations through the GUI I had no problem. But when I got to the step of having to cut-and-paste/manually enter data, the entry would not persist: either it would disappear entirely once I moved the cursor to another cell, or it would appear in a different cell than the one in which I'd entered it. So I saved the file to my local drive again, thinking that would solve the problem. It did not.

So now I'm back to asking whether there is something about SPSS 28 that I need to deal with, given that this problem is occurring both on Google Drive and on my local drive. Suggestions welcome.
