There are multiple aspects. Skill based certification and experience based certification are different. MOOCs platforms are really great for learning and improvising skills. At the same time, real life problem solving involving various business use cases are critical to gain experience out of it. In my personal opinion one needs to continue to focus around these 4 aspects - a) Passion and interest in the Data Science area, b) skill, c) experience, d) Thought leadership / staying current / being active on community etc.
You are in the right direction if your passion is in Data and AI space. In addition to IBM Data Science Professional certificate on Coursera, please try to get into some projects, stretch assignments, AoT initiatives or equivalent practical exposure and start experiencing in an end to end Data Science project. That will be a confidence booster in terms of getting a grip on every steps, methods, any learnings, any best practices used etc. Once you start completing projects one by one, you can apply for Data Science Profession Certification journey (L1 to start with) - details can be referred
here. Hope this helps.

Subject: Career in Data Science through MOOCs
Is pursuing a career in Data Science through MOOCs a realistic path? Could experienced professionals from less technical background make companies consider their candidature for entry level positions in Data Science through MOOCs? I recently completed the IBM Data Science professional certificate on coursera, what could be an effective future course of action for pursuing a career in Data Science?
