November was extremely busy for the Data Science Community, as we participated in IBM Community's annual user group event. Three years ago, the event was a one-day, multi-track event; last year we upped it to 2-days; and this year went all out with a five-day IBM Community Festival. Thank you to those who presented, participated, shared, or had any involvement in this year’s event!
The Festival, presented on IBM Expert TV, had an average of 7,775 viewers per day across 215+ sessions. By the numbers:
- 1 integrated brand program
- 2 voice of the user days
- 3 geos
- 6 IBM General Managers
- 10 executive keynotes
- 20 user groups
- 35 IBM Distinguished Technologists
- 60 client sessions
- 72 IBM Champions speakers
- 215+ total sessions
- 260+ speakers
Data Science Community highlights:
We also held a live, virtual volunteer program with Goodera, in which participants worked in teams or individually to record an audiobook, write a letter of support to the transgender community, or create e-flashcards for black history and STEM. You can read more about IBM Community’s volunteering here: Community for Social Good on the IBM Data Science in Practice Medium blog. We also had a thrill of a time with DJ Rich Girl’s music breaks (Positive Musical Vibes playlist here) and Drag Queen Bingo!
Most session videos are now available on the IBM Community YouTube channel, with more to come. You can find the Data and AI playlist here.
Join us to celebrate our 2021 accomplishments, including this event, at our IBM Community Social Hour: Holiday Celebration, on Thursday, December 16 at 8:00am PT.
