Hi Manfred,
You are quite correct.
If I had read the readme for FW950.D0 correctly I would have seen that same information as it relates to the new UAK Policy implemented by FW950.B0.

A slap to the forehead for me.
Thanks very much Manfred,

Hi,
I think „VL950_174_045/FW950.C2" included only the Security fixes for anyone without an valid UAK. „VL950_175_045/FW950.D0" included the Security fixes and some other fixes for all with an valid UAK.
best regards
Manfred

Subject: Power9 firmware FW950.C2 and FW950.D0 released on same date
Hi,
I am curious why IBM recently released two new firmware updates on the same date 19 December 2024
- VL950_174_045/FW950.C2 and VL950_175_045/FW950.D0.
Looking at the firmware history, all the documented changes for FW950.C2 are included in the documented changes for FW950.D0 that also has a few extras. I don't believe there is anything untoward here but it just seems a bit unusual to have two VL950 firmware updates with the same release date. Certainly no indications that FW950.C2 is in error.
Release VL950 updates are cumulative so we will be jumping from FW950.C1 to FW950.D0 regardless.
Keen to know though why IBM has released FW950.C2 and FW950.D0 this way.
