  • 1.  Need to Configure Ansible in AIX servers

    Hi All,

    Good Day !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    I want to start my automation journey of AIX servers by upgrading using Ansible.Can any one please help me how to start from the starting.

    In order to make recommendations, we need to understand a bit about the task. We also need to understand what skills you already have.

    Do you already use Ansible for other platforms? Do you use Ansible Automation Platform (AAP), or just the Ansible Core (the ansible-playbook CLI and friends)? Are you already an AIX administrator? Would you be able to do this task on a single machine without Ansible?

    If you have specific questions, feel free to ask here in the thread. In general, ansible for aix is now really very usable and great for automating things.

    There is a good Red Book on using Ansible with Power/AIX - https://redbooks.ibm.com/abstracts/sg248551.html.  That is a good starting point.

    Andrey Klyachkin's blog/substack/newsletter also has a lot of good information https://blog.power-devops.com/archive?sort=new - he is one of the authors of the above redbook and #1 when it comes to this topic.
