Bio

I started working on IBM computers in 1972 as a JCL Clerk and about a year later I was a very junior systems programmer working with OS/360 MVS 21.6. Since then I moved on to senior systems programmer with OS/VS2, MVS flavors, OS/390, and then z/OS. I've specialized in JES3 with lots of HLASM, then TSO/ISPF REXX developing tools to help improve the productivity of myself, peers, computer operations, and developers. Started attending SHARE in 1981 and held a number of volunteer positions over the years.

I've been able, thanks to supportive management, to share many of the productivity tools I've developed with the broader IBM community via the CBTTape, my own website, and now GitHub. I've authored a few dozen articles as well and migrated to online blogs recently.

The IBM ecosystem has been good to me during my career and I try to give back where and when I can.
