My professional computer connection all started in the Data Processing era. The punch cards, terminals, IBM coding sheets, Friday Senior Staff walkthroughs, middle of the night JCL error calls and tech manuals written by engineers and more did not discourage me choose an different career path. I was a Data Processing Gypsy: TX to IL to CT to GA to NY to IL. Always ready for the challenge and 'first time' did not deter me. Mostly IBM hardware from 1972 to Y2K in the NYC Bunker guiding NYC city tech structure into the 2000s.
