The Mainframe Dev Center is moving!
The Z team at IBM have been working hard to make your digital experience simpler, more intuitive, and more navigable, so we have some new homes for you to find all the technical and business content you have currently been enjoying on the Developer Centers. On October 16th, the Mainframe Developer Center will be sunsetting  While this website may be going, the content will not be forgotten. We have some brilliant communities ready for you to read, and share experiences. While content will be moving homes and may have a new look, our teams have been doing careful analysis to identify what content has been really useful for you and found the appropriate place to host it. IBM Communities
IBM Communities is a collection of communities to hang out in based on your interest in various IBM solutions and products, ranging from IBM Z & LinuxONE to SecurityMiddleware, Public Cloud, Business Analytics and more. This is where anyone who wants can come together to collaborate, ask questions, share knowledge, and support each other in their everyday work efforts.
  • We recommend that you visit and join the DevOps Solutions community to find the information you have been exploring on the Mainframe Developer Center. But be sure to check out some of the other communities that are available, for example the Middleware Community which includes discussions around IBM WebSphere Application Server, or the specific software community (eg IDz) that you are looking for.  Content is curated and aggregated based on primary community and keywords across multiple communities.
IBM Developer exists to bring coders together as a community, to tap into our collective innovative power. You’ll have the opportunity to learn new tricks, share some of your own, and get expert advice on your coding challenges. There will be a category for DevOps (best practices for IBM Z) and Cloud Native Development on Z.   Visit these sites for Podcasts, Events, Videos, Code Patterns, Tutorials, and aggregated community content.

Why has IBM decided to sunset the developerWorks brand?
With the sunset of DWAnswers, developerWorks Communities, and now the sunset of Developer Centers, it seems like the whole of developerWorks is disappearing. It isn't! The developerWorks brand is not being sunset; it is being merged with IBM Code, enhanced, and rebranded to “IBM Developer.” The developerWorks name has long been the standard at IBM for developer content. It features many great articles and tutorials to help developers find answers to pressing questions. IBM Developer provides developer advocacy, code patterns in GitHub, tech talks, and other developer community tools, resources, and activities. The integration of developerWorks and IBM Developer will increase focus on IBM development tools, middleware, open source software and community enablement to help developers get their work done every day.
Will all the content currently on Developer Centers be disappearing?
No, the IBM Z team are working on migrating all useful content to the different channels highlighted above. Through analysis of readership, they have been working to understand what content you find valuable so that they can migrate it to the appropriate channel for better navigation. What does that mean? It will mean you will be able to find much more up-to-date and valuable information targeted for you.
How do I navigate IBM Communities to find the content?
Each solution, concept, or topic area has its own group. For example, the IBM Z and LinuxONE community contains topic groups related to software and languages technologies, and solutions, such as DevOps, Cloud, It Operations and others.
Navigating the Community is simple: Choose the community in which you're interested from the Community menu at the top of the page. In each community, choose your group from either the Topic Group menu, or from its group tile in the community page itself. Want to join? Just click one of the many Join buttons on a group tile or the group page to become a member!
Topic Groups are defined by IBM terminology and offerings, and User Groups offer user topic-led forums, blogs, announcements and resources. Use Topic Groups to find content about specific and related offering content that you would be familiar with going onto the Developer Centers, and use User Groups to connect with like-minded individuals to discuss and keep track with user-generated topics.
What's happening with downloads?
Recognize this page? The downloads page has moved to Downloads and can be acccessed directly or through IBM Developer.   With redirects in place soon, it should be a seamless experience.
What happens if I can't find what I'm looking for?
We have a dedicated team who are making sure that doesn't happen, but if you can't find useful a piece of content that used to be available, raise a discussion in our community. It might be that our team are refreshing and republishing the content so that it is up-to-date for you.
