With the availability of IBM Semeru Runtime Certified Edition for z/OS, Version 11 (GA, Phase 2), formerly known as IBM 64-bit SDK for z/OS, Java Technology Edition, some users are wondering what level of middleware and subsystems on z/OS support this version of the Java 11 runtime. Below is a summary with links to more details in the product documentation.
IBM WebSphere Application Server traditional for z/OS
There are no plans for WebSphere traditional to support any Java 11 runtime - see IBM Support.
WebSphere traditional will support IBM 64-bit SDK for z/OS, Java Technology Edition V8 through at least 2030 - see announcement.
IBM WebSphere Liberty on z/OS
Liberty 22.0.0.9 or later supports Semeru 11 - see topic Updating and uninstalling Liberty on z/OS.
IBM CICS Transaction Server for z/OS
CICS TS 6.1 supports Semeru 11.0.15.0 or later - see topic CICS and Java.
CICS TS 5.6 with APAR PH47221 supports Semeru 11.0.17.0 or later.
CICS TS 5.5 with APAR PH47221 supports Semeru 11.0.17.0 or later.
IBM Information Management System (IMS)
IMS 15.1 or later supports Semeru 11 for the following components:
IMS TM resource adapter
IMS Universal and JDBC driver
Java-enabled dependent regions
IBM MQ for z/OS
IBM MQ for z/OS 9.2 or later supports Semeru 11 with the IBM MQ classes for JMS in batch, CICS or Liberty environments.
IBM MQ for z/OS 9.2 or later supports Semeru 11 with the IBM MQ classes for Java either in batch or CICS environments.
IBM MQ classes for JMS are not currently supported with Semeru 11 in IMS.
IBM MQ classes for JMS / Java are not currently supported with Semeru 11 if accessing queues with an AMS policy applied to them when connecting in client mode.
