As a Fan of IBM zSystems and LinuxONE, I was first in line to print an IBM z15 and LinuxONE III models a couple years ago. Fast forward to today, and we have the IBM z16 and LinuxONE Emperor 4! And the IBM Industrial Design Program has once again made the STL files to 3D-print models available to the public.
This time, the model is hollow and has an optional top you can print to cover it.
The files are available on the Fans of IBM zSystems Hub Library: IBM z16 model 3D printer file (stl)
The .zip file contains:
- z16-empty-V1.stl, which is a hollow version of the model
- z16-cap-V1.stl, which is an optional cap that can be used to close the model.
Note that the design is IBM proprietary, but it has been modified to be more easily 3D-printed, and permission was granted to distribute it to the public.
