Can anyone please provide inputs for these MAS mobile questions?

    1. Does Maximo Mobile support role specific apps, ie different app fields, screens, rules, flow?

    2. How is data filtered for different users and roles?  Is this done in the same way as Anywhere?

    3. Are their limitations with the customizations possible with Maximo mobile?

    4. Is it easy for customers to make changes with Maximo mobile?

    5. Can new stand alone apps be created?

    6. What are data sync and storage limitations?

    7. What are Maximo mobile's offline limitations?

    Thanks,

    Suman

Here are answers to your MAS Mobile questions based on the available documentation:

    1. Does Maximo Mobile support role-specific apps, i.e., different app fields, screens, rules, and flow?

      • Yes, Maximo Mobile supports role-based applications such as Technician and Inspections. These applications can have unique settings and object structures that control access to data, defining different fields, screens, rules, and workflows per role.
    2. How is data filtered for different users and roles? Is this done in the same way as Anywhere?

      • Data filtering is managed through object structures and security settings. Maximo Mobile allows administrators to control user access through security groups, object structures, and role-based application settings. The filtering process is somewhat similar to Anywhere but leverages OSLC/REST API calls for data exchange.
    3. Are there limitations with the customizations possible with Maximo Mobile?

      • Customization is possible using the Maximo Application Framework (MAF) on 9.0 you need to have a Docker on your PC on 9.1 is planned to be inside MAS.
      • Configuration application. You can modify applications, add fields, adjust layouts, and apply business rules. However, there are constraints, such as compatibility with future upgrades and the need to use delta files for updating customized apps.
    4. Is it easy for customers to make changes with Maximo Mobile?

      • Yes, the MAF Configuration application simplifies customization. It provides a graphical interface for modifying apps and applying security settings. Changes can be tested and deployed without extensive coding.
    5. Can new standalone apps be created?

      • Yes, new applications can be developed using the Application Designer and the Maximo Application Framework. This allows customers to create and modify apps based on their specific business needs.
    6. What are data sync and storage limitations?

      • Maximo Mobile uses a local JSON data store that is encrypted. Sync operations can be reviewed, and administrators can monitor storage usage on the device. Sync statistics are available to troubleshoot and optimize data exchanges.
    7. What are Maximo Mobile's offline limitations?

      • While offline, Maximo Mobile allows users to work with locally stored data. However, some actions require authentication, and if the user's session expires, they need to reconnect. Additionally, data sync must be completed when back online to ensure updates are reflected in Maximo Manage.

Let me know if you need more details!
