1) Are you using Maximo Application Suite or the for EAM (IE Maximo 7.6.1.2) version of Maximo Mobile?
You mentioned "for EAM" so I assume it's that. But you followed up asking about the additional configuration that I explicitly stated only exists in Maximo Application Suite. Maximo Application Suite (IE the version running on OpenShift), while similar from a functional perspective, is different than the for EAM version. For example, the MAF map component (
CARBONMAP) attribute doesn't exist on Maximo 7.6.1.2 but is required to be enabled in Maximo Application Suite. 2) Do you have Maximo Spatial installed? If so, what version are you running (including any IFIXes)?
If you do not have Spatial and an ESRI system, you cannot utilize maps with Maximo Mobile currently.
Assuming you're on Maximo 7.6.1.2 using the for EAM version for Maximo Mobile 8.6.0, you should be running Spatial 7.6.1.0 IFIX 09/10. You want to keep this consistent with TPAE IFIXes and you're required to be on TPAE IFIX 014 or higher for Maximo Mobile 8.6.0.
3) Is ESRI configured (not Google/Bing) and is it working in the classic apps like WOTRACK?
You need a base map configured and enabled for the site in question (based on the user's default insert site). If it doesn't work in the classic app it won't work in the Mobile app.
4) What version of Maximo Mobile are you running (including any IFIXes)?
8.6.0 IFIX 01 is the most recent release for the For EAM version. You must be running TPAE 7.6.1.2 IFIX 014 or higher for this version. This IFIX is required because changes were made to core class files to support the Maximo Mobile 8.6.0 release.
5) Is your ESRI system public or private? IE can you access the ESRI URLs configured for Map Services on any computer or does it require a VPN?
The Mobile app traffic might not go over the VPN or the VPN might not have access to the ESRI URLs so the app might not have access to the ESRI system. If you're not sure, you can try and access the ESRI URLs on the mobile device in the web browser but these sometimes will route over a VPN while the app traffic wouldn't.
At least for Anywhere and the web browser (I haven't tested with Maximo Mobile and don't have a non-public ESRI system to test on), you can enable a proxy flag on the Map record which would cause the requests to route through Maximo. That can negatively impact performance but would avoid the need for the mobile application to have access to ESRI directly.

Subject: maximo mobile for EAM app MAP enable configuration suggestion
Thank you Steven.
On the for EAM side, I didn't do any additional configuration and the map was available for using in Maximo Mobile. For Maximo Application Suite, the configuration in Map Manager requires a bit of additional configuration to enable for the Graphite applications
can you please provide a configuration detail to add in Maximo map manager on Graphite application?

Do you have Maximo Spatial installed and configured for your ESRI instance in this environment and is it working in the classic applications (IE WOTRACK) for that user? Today, Maximo Mobile requires Spatial & ESRI for mapping support.
On the for EAM side, I didn't do any additional configuration and the map was available for using in Maximo Mobile. For Maximo Application Suite, the configuration in Map Manager requires a bit of additional configuration to enable for the Graphite applications.
