I lead with integrity and empathy, aiming to be seen as a fair and supportive leader who values growth and innovation. Inspired by Nelson Mandela's resilient and moral leadership, I strive to tackle the challenge of sustaining team morale in a dynamic industry. Witnessing the potential in others to surpass their limits is what drives my passion for fostering an environment of continuous learning and success.

A director I had for a while many years ago. This person had a vision and was able to articulate it so that we could all understand it and take action. An excellent negotiator too, who used to meet with peers prior to director council meetings, so that the proposals would be backed by everyone and approved every time.

Another one was very forceful-which I admired at times-but this person lacked what we might call the diplomatic touch and made more enemies than allies.

Those two definitely stand out when looking back, particularly the former one.

    P.S.

Many answers go in the direction of a leader being able to listen and to be supportive. This for me is a given.
Also, they have to go beyond words and trigger action and then follow up on the results.

I admire leaders who enable other people to become more powerful professionals. Quoting Dan Pink, those who provide their people with sufficient autonomy, ability to master new skills and sense of purpose. Good leader would be able to step back at some point of time, knowing his team is able to work without his guidance.

One easy example that comes to mind is in the context of professional sports, and is a person I've come to really admire would be Tom Brady. He was a tireless worker, and very selfless in his approach to playing, and you could see this translate into all the success he had over his career.

Leaders who lead by action I think are the ones who have the biggest impact, on me especially. It's very easy to say you'll improve conditions, but the ones who follow through with actions to back it up are the most impactful.

Leaders who take the time to understand the "whys" and "story behind the numbers" inspire me.  They understand the driving forces behind change and can effectively guide organizations during times of difficulty.  I've worked with only a handful of them over my career, but they are the type of person that you'd go to the end of the world for.  They create a strong sense of community, belonging, and togetherness when taking on any challenge or project.

I usually admire leaders that are not afraid to step up and take brave decisions in a clear and transparent manner.

Also, a leader should be consistent and reliable, people need to trust him/her.

A good leader should also be able to connect and empathize with everyone, considering the needs of the team.

One of my previous managers would always lead by showing you how to do something, then watching while you do it and then giving feedback. This process could take a few rounds or could be just once. I found it works really well and I want to follow that example. Also leaders who praise publicly and give negative feedback privately are amazing

One of my previous company's manager is a person who's leadership I admire! He has always been a mentor with a positive impact and guided in  many situations. Some of his good qualities are identifying the good qualities and strengths in you, guides or suggests keeping in mind the benefit of the others. He is also a motivational speaker(generally motivates people on a daily basis through content) , and ultimately a good human being.
