Since many requirements from vendors and other third parties are sourced in Excel, using OSLC to load requirements directly from Excel to IBM Rational DOORS Next Generation (DNG) can greatly speed up the process of getting requirements into the system. This solution facilitates not only the loading of new requirement artifacts, but also creating the links between these artifacts. Due to the power of the VBA programming language, this affords much greater flexibility than the out-of-the-box CSV import feature in DNG. Michael Angelastro is currently a Rational Administrator at Zions Bancorp with 14 years of experience in various areas of IT. He supports and maintains a large distributed Rational environment of 900+ users. Installation includes DOORS Next Gen, RTC/CCM, Quality Management, Jazz Reporting Service and JTS sitting on Redhat Linux servers with an Oracle 12c Database. They are in the process of upgrading their environment to version 6.0.2.
