Staying Safe and Secure in a Quantum Computing World [2419]

Quantum computing, a rapidly advancing field in computer science, holds potential to transform areas like medicine, AI, and space exploration. However, it poses risks by potentially breaking key encryption algorithms vital for digital security. As the impact on encryption is futuristic, preparation is crucial today. In fact, some of our data has a long-time value so malicious entities can harvest that data now and decrypt it later when a Cryptographically Relevant Quantum Computer (CRQC) is available. In this session you will learn, (1) how exactly quantum computing is going to impact encryption, (2) how to prepare for transitioning to quantum safe encryption, and (3) tips and best practices from our experience in creating a PoC of a quantum safe DB2.
