Apptio BI has launched six new out-of-the-box reports for Apptio Cost Management (ACM) - available by selecting the the Apptio Cost Management data source. These reports provide readily available dashboards and reports that allow our users to draw insights from their data without having to build or configure reports. Our goal is to help our ACM users recognize potential cost savings opportunities easier and earlier.

Apptio Cost Management is a new TBM offering that allows customers to unlock insights into key financial domains within their organization, providing cost reduction opportunities across labor, vendor, software, contracts, and project use cases. It also provides visibility of spend drivers across services and business units, allowing them to provide a consumptive view of resources used by each business unit.  

Let's explore the six new reports and what they provide users!

Apptio BI Reports can be accessed through the Apptio BI Reports tab and will be available above your owned, shared, and viewable reports on the top of your screen, or by selecting the View All button. Apptio BI accessible by selecting Apptio BI on Frontdoor, however these reports are only available only to users with Apptio Cost Management.

1: Financials
This Apptio BI report reviews the foundational financials of your organization by owner to identify key spend trends and budget variance.
Users will be able to identify OpEx, CapEx, and total spend year-to-date as well as current period, as well as view budget variance by owner to see where the largest budget overruns are occurring.

2: Labor
Reviews insights into your labor mix across your cost centers and employee types, particularly how your labor headcount looks across your organization. Our goal with this report is to help ITFMs and resource managers to identify trends in their labor headcount and labor plan while analyzing spend by cost center and employee type.

3: Vendors
Your vendor portfolio and the associated spend across strategic, preferred, and transactional vendors, including the top 10 vendors and their associated spend to help users categorize vendors by strategic importance.

4: Solutions
This Apptio BI report provides your top application and service spend (broadly categorized as Solutions) and allows you to visualize what apps and/or services (and service types) are consuming the most spend and understand and contextualize the largest categories of spend across Solution Type and Solution Category.

5: Consumers
This Apptio BI report reviews your organization's business unit consumption broken out by key spend drivers. It also analyzes the spend types and categories that your business units are consuming.

6: Executive View:
Understand - in a single pane of glass - key metrics across your financial drivers in your organization. Get an at a glance view of the business units are consuming what spend, the key applications or service spend, as well as labor distribution across your organization.
