Thank you to @Summer Gu and @Rohit Gautham J for spotting the link issues in this article!

Looks like these documents were moved in HelpCenter, so I'll be updating the article links to match their new homes.

For now, the new Insights Library link is at https://help.apptio.com/en-us/insights/dashboards_and_reports/insights-library.htm.

Some suggestions for this page:
1) Can the Insights be grouped into their Categories (Applications, Infrastructure, etc.)
2) Insights should be numbered
3) Double check there are no duplicate entries
4) It would be nice if the content for all the Insights was available in a spreadsheet format

Hey Kathy Dyda - thanks for your question! The required periods of data in this document actually refers to the CT time periods functions that the insights are derived from, which is why you will see some that refer to year-to-date, annual, or previous period. These do relate to the evaluation period of the insight, but it is actually last month from today's (now) date. Since we're currently in June 2020, the insight will use data from May 2020 (calendar year) in Cost Transparency and use current month, previous period, year-to-date, etc. time based metrics and functions.

Hi @Megan Saffo,

- Vendors

- Purchase orders

- Cost centre

- Servers (cpu & memory utilisation),

- Storage utilisation

- Service consumption volumes for (PCs, Ipads, Mobile)

- Managed Print Services

- Application (analysis of support non-production environments)

- Insights & actions related to Cloudability

- Software licensing consumption (cores to infrastructure)

- Eliminating legacy products/services

Basically I would like to be able to filter any column in a master data table/model to be able to use the data in Apptio to tell a story that improves value for our stakeholders. We do this now manually by using the same data we use to feed Apptio but we put in a spreadsheet, build and excel chart and copy and paste it into Powerpoint.

Let me know if you would like to discuss sometime. My CSA is @Greg Winfield

Hi @Ben Haines - absolutely, this is something we have been gathering more feedback on. Are there any use cases that come to mind specific to OOTB metrics, datasets/objects, or products from the Apptio product suite? If so, what types of configurations would you and your team find useful, specific to filtering, calculations, and thresholds?

This document refers to "Current Period" in several places.  I was uncertain of how current period is defined in this instance (i.e. current period setting in CT?  the current calendar month (i.e. the month of today's date)).  Answer = the current calendar month (i.e. the month of today's date).

Hope this is helpful!

It would be great if you could build your own insights items that are specific to your organisation. We have some significant areas of opportunity that I would like to track. We used to use Insights Tracker in the past but I am looking for a more automated data solution.
