Interact with experts for developing hybrid applications spanning IBM Z and multi cloud platforms using a standard DevOps toolchain
The IBM Z and Cloud Modernization Stack offering, now available for the AWS platform, helps build enterprise CI/CD pipelines to support the Software Delivery Life Cycle of mainframe applications. The Wazi components provide the mainframe developers with agile environments to code, debug, build and test z/OS applications with a Cloud-native experience. Developers leverage Wazi for DevSpaces, a Web-based IDE that contains all the necessary elements to implement changes to a COBOL program and build it. Wazi Analyze is used to understand the relationship between the different artifacts and perform changes with confidence. Wazi Sandbox provides the developer with an isolated z/OS system for Dev & Test purposes to build programs, run unit tests and early integration tests.
In this video, you will see how to benefit from the integration of the Wazi offering with the DevOps facilities offered by the AWS Cloud platform, such as AWS CodeCommit and AWS CodePipeline, to build a modern CI/CD pipeline for a mainframe application. This demonstration is showing how to use Wazi DevSpaces and Wazi Analyze to understand the structure of a program callchain and implement a change to a COBOL program. Wazi Sandbox is then used to build the changed program and execute the tasks defined in the CI/CD pipeline to package and deploy the application to a target z/OS system. The different pipelines are driven by the AWS CodePipeline service provided by the AWS Cloud Platform.
