Transaction system availability is always a key issue, and the all-new DB2 10.5 for Linux, UNIX and Windows includes a series of enhancements that make it faster and easier for you to ensure the level of availability that stakeholders in your organization expect.  

Join IBM architect Aamer Sachedina for an in-depth discussion of the enhancements in DB2 10.5 that help ensure 'always available' transactions. DB2 pureScale provides two major functions: enables capacity scaling without application change; and provides an always available environment so that transactional workloads, queries and other tasks continue uninterrupted in case of unplanned downtime.

Now in DB2 10.5, several enhancements work with DB2 pureScale to ensure the ultimate in availability and disaster recovery for transactional workloads.

In addition to providing a DB2 pureScale refresher, Aamer will cover the new enhancements including:

• Integration with high availability disaster recovery (HADR) functionality, to provide pureScale cluster mirroring remotely or locally to a standby server, thus enabling minimal impact to critical transaction systems
• Support for rolling maintenance updates, which is the ability to maintain individual machines in the cluster without impacting the user experience
