Hi. This is Jonathan Strauss, Customer Success Manager here at Apptio. And, today we’re going to talk about the check in, check out feature for Studio v12. We’ll also include how to revert your changes as well as how to review your check in history.
So, to start, I want to make sure that we’ve accessed our TBM Studio, and the Cost Transparency project from your Application picker. And then, make sure that you’re in the correct time period as well as you are in development.
So, I’d like to make some changes to my CIO Summary report. You can see that I’m in my reports here. So, I’m going to go to the Home portion of the ribbon and select Check Out. I can see that it’s checked out because it’s written in orange now and there’s a pencil next to it. So, I can now edit this report. So, we will delete some HTML code around this KPI box. But, maybe, I don’t actually like those changes. So, now I can go back and revert my changes. So, this will let me know what I want to revert, give me a selection. In this case, I only want to revert CIO Summary report and the changes I made there. So, I can select Revert Check Out. That will revert the changes, and it will actually check the document back in as if I never checked it out.
But, let’s say there are some changes that I would like to make. We’ll go back to Check Out, and now we’ll make a bunch of changes. We’ll delete this HTML, we’ll delete this KPI, we’ll remove some more HTML coding, we’ll remove the group, get rid of some of these tables and charts.. We’ll make a bunch of changes to this report. And, maybe, this is the report that we want to finish with.
So, now we can click on the Check In feature. So, this will let us know which documents we’re checking in, and you should put a detailed description of what you’re checking in in your message dialog box on the right. So, here we’ll type - Made changes to CIO Summary Report. Make sure your spelling is correct and then select Check In.
Once the documents are checked in, you might want to see a history of all your checked in documents. You can do that by selecting Project from the ribbon, and then Check In History. And, here you’ll see a list of all the check ins and you can see that on June 16, I checked in two documents where I made changes to the CIO Summary Report.
So, that’s how you check in check out documents, that’s how you revert changes as well as review your Check In History.
