After checking in your changes, the application will assign them to a build number and begin calculating that build. If you are an Admin, and have made more changes after your check in, you may want to cancel the current calculating build and start a new calculation containing your most recent changes. This can be done using the following steps.

Step 1. Navigate to the project that has the current build calculating

Step 2. Navigate to the Builds page (Calculation Queue): on the Project tab, click Calculation Queue.

Navigate to the Calculation Queue

Step 3. On the Builds page, right-click on the build with "Calculating" status. In the shortcut menu, click Cancel Build.

Cancel Build

Step 4. Wait for a few minutes for the request to process. The next build will begin calculating.

New Build Started

Hi all, I have a follow up technical question -

When the build is cancelled, are the changes lost? (i.e., the objects are reverted)

Or are the tables/objects that were checked in checked out again with the changes?

Thanks!

Dhairya

@Julie Batty, here is a response I received from Apptio Support after noticing it takes about an hour for the next pending calc to kick into gear:

"Yes, cancelling a build is not instantaneous, as a series of events [h]as to occur, such as bringing down the stgcalc node, then creating another for the next build to start its calculation, along with other events occurring."

I've recently done this but the subsequent STG calculations have remained as PENDING - what would cause this to happen? Also, how do I get STG to calc again?

Thanks a lot for sharing this @George _ !

This is a really helpful hint :-)

Have a nice weekend!

Best regards

Using this method, it took around an hour for the next build in line to start its calculation - a heads up to not expect instant results.  +1 to @Julie Batty's comment.

This is a great addition, have on occasion needed to cancel a calc as another one has become more urgent
